About the jade
What is Type A jadeite?
Type A refers to natural, untreated jadeite — jade that has only been cut, carved, and polished, with no chemical bleaching, polymer impregnation, or dye. It is the only grade considered investment-quality jadeite in the trade.
For reference: Type B has been acid-bleached and resin-impregnated to improve transparency. Type C has been dyed. Type B+C is both. Molly Gemstone only sells Type A.
Where does your jade come from?
Our jadeite is sourced from Burma (Myanmar) and Guatemala, two of the world's most well-known jade-producing regions.
The stones themselves originate from these regions, while many of our pieces are cut, carved, polished, and assembled through our family-run workshop and production partners in China, where generations of jade craftsmanship and jewelry making are based.
Burmese jadeite is known for its classic greens, lavender tones, and traditional carving quality, while Guatemalan jade is loved for its cool blue-green "blue water" tones and modern character.
Each piece is personally inspected before listing to ensure quality, color, and authenticity.
Do jade pieces contain natural textures or inclusions?
Yes. Natural jadeite often contains internal textures, mineral inclusions, color variation, or fine natural lines formed during its natural geological formation process.
Because jade is a natural stone, each piece is unique and may show slight variations in texture, translucency, or color distribution. These characteristics are considered part of the beauty and individuality of natural jadeite.
How can I tell the difference between Burmese and Guatemalan jade?
Both Burmese and Guatemalan jade are natural jadeite, but they are often known for different color tendencies and material character.
Burmese jade is traditionally associated with classic greens, lavender, icy white, and highly translucent jadeite. Guatemalan jade is often appreciated for its blue-green, teal, and deeper ocean-toned material.
However, natural jade varies greatly, and color alone cannot always determine origin. When known, the jade origin will be stated in the listing description.
Photos & certificates
Are your photos filtered or colour-enhanced?
No. All listing photos are shot in natural daylight with no filters, no AI retouching, and no colour enhancement. What you see is what you receive.
Jade can shift slightly under different lighting — warmer indoors, cooler outdoors — which is normal for any translucent stone. We try to show multiple angles and lighting conditions in each listing.
Does my piece come with a certificate?
Independent gemological certificates are available on request for most pieces priced $200 USD and above. If you would like one issued with your purchase, please message us before or shortly after ordering and we will arrange it through a recognised lab.
Smaller pieces and bead bracelets often don't carry individual certificates because lab fees would significantly exceed the item value — but every piece is hand-inspected by us and backed by our authenticity guarantee.
What is your authenticity guarantee?
If our Type A claim is ever proven false by a certified gemological lab, we offer a full refund plus return shipping cost — no questions asked.
Sizing & fit
How do I measure my wrist for a bracelet?
Wrap a soft tape measure (or a strip of paper) snugly around the narrowest part of your wrist, just above the wrist bone. That measurement is your wrist circumference.
- Beaded bracelet: add 1.5–2.5 cm (0.6–1 in) to your wrist measurement for comfortable everyday wear. Add more for a looser drape.
- Cabochon / link bracelet with chain: most chains are adjustable; the listing will specify the range.
Each listing notes the bracelet's total length and bead size. If you are unsure, message us your wrist measurement and we will recommend the best fit.
How do I measure for a bangle?
Bangle sizing is the most important measurement on our site — jade bangles do not stretch.
- Bring your thumb and pinky finger together.
- Measure around the widest part of your hand using a soft tape measure.
- Match your hand circumference to the recommended jade bangle size below.
| Hand Circumference | Bangle Size |
|---|---|
| 15.5–16.5 cm | 52–53 mm |
| 16.5–17.5 cm | 54–55 mm |
| 17.5–18.5 cm | 56–57 mm |
| 18.5–19.5 cm | 58–59 mm |
| 19.5–20.5 cm | 60–61 mm |
| 20.5–21.5 cm | 62–63 mm |
Sizing may vary slightly depending on hand shape and preferred fit. When in doubt, contact us.
Do you offer customization or made-to-order pieces?
Yes — we offer limited customization for select pieces depending on current material availability and production schedule.
Customization options may include bracelet sizing, charm changes, bead arrangements, simple redesigns, or made-to-order combinations using available jadeite materials.
Please contact us before placing your order to discuss customization requests, pricing differences, and processing time.
How do I find my ring size?
Most of our silver-set jade rings use an adjustable shank that fits a range of sizes — the listing will specify the range (typically US 6–9). Solid jade band rings are fixed-size; please confirm your size with a ring sizer or jeweller before ordering.
Shipping & processing

How long does delivery take?
- North America: 5–7 business days after dispatch.

Are there customs duties or import taxes?
International orders may be subject to customs duties or import taxes in the destination country. These fees are the buyer's responsibility and are not collected by Molly Gemstone.

All orders ship with tracking. Insurance is included on orders above $200 USD. Higher-value pieces require signature on delivery.
Returns
What is your return policy?
Because each piece is one-of-a-kind, please read item descriptions and check sizing carefully before placing an order. We are always happy to answer questions or send additional photos.
Full return policy details (which categories qualify, conditions, and timelines) live on the policies page.
Can I return earrings?
Due to hygiene considerations, earrings are not eligible for return or refund. Please reach out before purchase if you have any questions about size, fit, or appearance.
Can I return a ring or bangle?
Adjustable silver- or gold-set rings may be returned within 48 hours of delivery if unworn and in original condition; buyer is responsible for return shipping. Solid jade band rings are final sale due to the delicate nature of full jade bands.
Bangles may be returned within 48 hours of delivery if unworn and in original condition. Please contact us first to arrange the return — do not ship anything back without confirmation. Buyer is responsible for fully insured return shipping. Because jade bangles cannot be resized, please confirm measurements carefully before purchase. See our policies page for full details.
